Drive: ~210 km | 7–8 hrs
Start early from Kathgodam (nearest railhead). Drive through the picturesque Kumaon region via Almora and Bageshwar to reach Khati Village — the last motorable point and base for the Pindari trail.

Your trek begins along the banks of the Pindar River through tall oak and pine forests. You’ll cross streams and admire waterfalls before reaching the riverside camping site at Dwali.

A shorter trekking day that gains altitude gradually. The trail rises steadily offering glimpses of the towering peaks above and the cascading river below.

This is the highlight of the trek. From Phurkia, follow the glacier valley through rocks, streams and snow-fed moraines to reach Zero Point at around 12,300 ft. Here, the massive ice front and surrounding peaks provide a thrilling glacier encounter before returning to Phurkia.
